In last week's sacrament meeting, the speaker was commenting on her science classes in college. As they discussed evolution the spirit touched her and told her that evolution was a tool that Heavenly Father used in creating the world.
I totally agree. Many see science and religion as opposites but I don't. When there is a real conflict, science usually notes that this is a theory. (not proven truth) Most often the "conflict" is because men try to suppose for themselves how God acts. He is the greatest scientist. He knows all the laws and just uses them to accomplish His purposes. Remember, if we could "prove" religious teachings, faith would be replaced. And what is a primary purpose of coming to earth ?
Further ramblings.
What if all matter in the universe agreed to follow Heavenly Father because he had a perfect reputation of following the law and his word. By so agreeing, spirits and people are created to continue the eternal progression. Total confidence.
Are we the type of people that are so consistant and so "tried and true" that we can eventually be like Him ?

Yeah, I'll agree with you on that one. There are lots of theories that people argue are one way or another, but I don't understand why they can't both be right!
I was actually thinking of this the other day. Science is a very important part of the gospel of Christ. And God being all knowing is able to understand the principles of all the sciences better than we, so at times, we see them in contradiction, rather than supportive of one another. To be God, He must be obedient to all laws, so He must follow the principles that govern matter. I like how you said He's the greatest scientist. So true.
I was just thinking of this the other day. Science is a part of the Gospel of Christ. God just knows more science than we do, so sometimes some might see things spiritual and physical in contradiction rather than two supporting partners. I like how you said that God is the greatest scientist. So true.
